New media Vs PR, advertising & marketing.
New media refers kind of media that can be connected to us
everywhere. We able participate ourselves to these network anytime, anywhere or
with any devices. This network can also be defined as new kind of media that
linking each other together anywhere and anytime. Compare to the traditional
media like television, radio or newspaper that can only able reach us with
specific time and specific venue, new media is a lot convenience. New media
nowadays is interactive, manipulated, networkable and two ways of
communication. We not only accept the info but we also argue for the particular
matter. The social media like Facebook can be defined as new media.
Based on my opinion, new media had become the most famous
social media channel. New media used by most of the public no mater teenagers,
children, youngsters but also old folks. Because of the popular of new media,
it affected PR, advertising and marketing industry heavily nowadays. With the
present of new media, it makes PR, advertising and marketing industry works
more smoothly and effective.
Public Relation works as a bridge between company and
public. They trying to maintain the relationship between them and make a
balance to both side. New media have helped PR industry to get connected to the
public. Public not only can receive information through new media but also can
provided their own opinion for improvement. PR industry can get the opinion of
public through the new media and make some changes. This will promote the
improvement to the company and also enhance the good relationship between customer
and company. With the good relation, it will build the trust of the public and
the good images of the company. Company will get a good reputation through the
good relationship between customers.
Besides, new media had influenced advertising industry
heavily. New media reach everyone nowadays. Advertisment is kind of information
that direct to the publics through email, TV program, radio program or any that
medium can provide information. Advertisement usually is used to promote a
product or specific services. Advertising industry can insert their
advertisement in the new media and published. With the publicity of new media,
it makes the advertisement reach most of the people. If the advertisement is
attractive and useful to the public, it will change the behaviour of the publics.
When these advertisements changed public's behaviour, it brings benefit to the
particular company. There will be 2 kind of advertising which is profit and
non-profit. Non- profit advertisement can also call as Public Service
Association (PSA).
Moreover, new media also bring benefit to marketing
industry. When there is a new launching of product, marketing of product take
place. New media is used to give information to the public so that public would
know more about the product's new launching ceremony such as venue, time and
duration. With the participation of public, it makes the ceremony succeed. When
the marketing of the product succeed, it brings income the particular company.
Besides, new media also makes conveniences of marketing product online. People
can shop and purchase their needs online with more choices and comparison.
With the present of new media, it makes PR, advertising
& marketing works easier and shorter time. It bring massive of audience
which means high publicity. New media nowadays become a useful tool to these
industries as the publishing purpose. It does help to reach the target audience
effectively. New media had change the era of publishing information.
